Our course starts in the Spanish fishing village of Tarifa and finishes along the northern shore of Morocco. Water temperature in the summer typically ranges from 60 to 70 degrees F.
The course has a set of unique challenges:
- Currents in the strait can be very strong and are unpredicatable
- Shipping traffic can be very heavy
- Fog can be heavy
- Swimmer will likely see dolphins, whales and sharks.
Fewer than 300 swimmer have made it across the strait.
