The Tsugaru Strait is considered one the toughest channel swims in the world.

We have chosen the narrowest (and most dangerous route) for the 11.7 mile swim across the channel.

Our course start in a national park on the southern tip of Honchu and ends in remote fishing village at the north end of Hokkaido Island.
The first documented swim across the channel was in 1990 by David Yudovin.

Crossings are often restricted by typhoon weather conditions
